Broccoli Beef Recipe

Hey All,

So today I went to the market and had a craving for some beef stew. I bought the meat and veggies and that little beef stew packet. When I got back to my apartment I ended up making broccoli beef..lol. It was actually pretty good being the first time and not too fattening. Although I'm super horrible at counting calories (and I forgot this time sorry) I'm guessing that for one serving there around 300 possibly less calories (not counting the rice).

So these are the ingredients: (didn't measure some things, but I promise to next time)
1cup Beef stew meat (cut up into smaller pieces)
1 cup broccoli
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/3 cup water
1 tbsp Broccoli beef seasoning
1 clove of garlic
1/3 cup of onions
salt and pepper to taste

This is the meat I used. Not the best choice but it was tender and all I had haha.

I sliced the meat into even smaller, thinner pieces.

A little less than half the package measured about a cup.

This is the package I used. Never tried this brand before but it wasn't bad at all. I used about 1 1/2 tbsp of the seasoning since I was only making a little bit for myself. In a bowl I added the seasoning, the soy sauce, and the water. Dissolve and set aside.

Heat about 1 tbsp of oil in a pan on medium-high heat. (I just used vegetable oil).

Cooking the meat only takes about 5-7 mins. Add salt and pepper to taste. (Do not add too much salt). Stir occasionally.

Cut and rinse about 1 cup of broccoli. This might be a little more because I love my broccoli. I like to cut my broccoli into small pieces so that they all cook evenly and all the way through.

I forgot to show it but I actually removed the meat and cooked the broccoli for about 5 minutes while I cut up the onion and minced the garlic. I'm not sure how much I used but it's all about personal preference. I also added salt and pepper to the broccoli but I recommend just adding any extra salt til the end. Add the meat back in as well as the garlic and onion. Keep cooking for another 2-3 minutes or so til the onions soften.

Add the seasoning mixture...

...and stir til it thickens. Not too long because you do not want the broccoli to get soggy.

Here's the final product. I served it with white rice...

...And a cold glass of Arizona Mucho Mango.

This took about 30-40 mins. Not sure exactly but again next time I promise to measure everything properly, count the calories, and time it!!

All in all this actually came out pretty alright for my first go at this. I'll be honest it was kinda salty but that was my own fault and with the plain white rice it sorta evened out.
